Jillian Lavender, Meditation Teacher

Jillian has practised meditation for over 15 years, and in 2003 qualified as a teacher after 14 months of full-time study in the mountains of Northern Arizona. Her continuing studies take her to the US and India several times a year.

Prior to becoming a teacher of Vedic Meditation, she was a successful corporate executive, and held a variety of international leadership roles throughout Europe, the U.S. and Asia Pacific.

Born in New Zealand, Jillian has lived in Australia, the U.S., Sweden and France and currently resides in London.

Jillian says:  “Think about how much better you feel after a good night of sleep. The mind is clear, you are more alert and you have more energy to deal with the demands of the day.

Now imagine that, in only 20 minutes, you can get the equivalent of several hours of deep sleep simply by sitting in a chair with your eyes closed. And you can do this at home, in your office, on a plane, or anywhere else where you can have a few minutes undisturbed.

This is exactly what happens when you practice Vedic Meditation. When you rest deeply, you create the perfect conditions whereby your mind and body can purify and normalize, throw off stress and fatigue and come back to a state of balance. Changes occur quickly and improvements are often significant within the first few weeks of learning.”

A few minutes of Meditation each day brings a wide range of practical benefits - a clearer and more creative mind, increased effectiveness, improved health, broader awareness, greater happiness and more rewarding relationships.

Scientifically validated benefits include:

• Reduced tension and anxiety
• Increased resistance to stress
• Improved memory and concentration
• Better learning ability
• Increased energy
• Improved health
• Reduced insomnia
• Greater ability to enjoy life
• Increased self esteem
• Improved relationships
• Reduction of biological ageing

About London Meditation Centre

Jillian Lavender and Michael Miller are independent teachers of Vedic Meditation working with individuals to maximise performance and achieve success in all areas of their personal and professional life.  Students come from a range of backgrounds, and include business people, medical professionals, teachers, performing artists and mothers and children.
Jillian and Michael are based in West London and also offer courses throughout Europe and the U.S.

Michael says: “The Vedic Meditation Technique is a simple, natural, effortless procedure practised sitting comfortably with the eyes closed.

Vedic Meditation (sometimes referred to as transcendental meditation or TM) allows the activity of thinking to become increasingly quiet and settled. This process continues until the mind transcends the finest impulse of thought and experiences its quietest, most settled state while alertness is fully maintained. At the same time the body gains a state of very deep rest.

Following the practice you feel refreshed mentally and physically - the mind is calmer and more alert, thinking is clearer and energy levels increase. People find they can achieve more with less effort, and that work, recreation and relationships are more rewarding!”
